Da Nang in central Vietnam boasts a variety of night markets and shopping streets that can rival those you’ll find in Vietnam’s more popular cities. So before you dismiss a day of souvenir shopping, we’ve come up with a list of markets in Da Nang Vietnam you should definitely stop by when in the area.
1. Con Market: The Market in Town
With over 2,000 stalls in this large open space, Con Market is where both locals and tourists flock for their needs. Whether it’s a sampling of some tasty Vietnamese dishes like banh mi, banh xeo or mi quang, or some handcrafted knickknacks, it’s a great place to stroll and witness everything happening around you. They even sell things like accessories, clothes and more at this Da Nang institution!

2. Han Market: Ultimate Souvenir Haven
If you’re looking for some dried food packages to bring home, cheap pieces of clothing or interesting souvenirs for friends, add the Han Market to your itinerary. Housed in a large two-storey building, it’s one of the best places to go souvenir shopping.

3. Bac My An Market: Foodie’s Paradise
If you couldn’t care less about souvenirs and shopping, and are more bothered about the gastronomic options available in a market, head to Bac My An Market for some of the cheapest eats in the area. If you’re feeling adventurous, we dare you to try their signature dish: snails stir fried with chili and lemongrass (oc da or oc buou). If not, there’s still a whole host of scrumptious eats to choose from!
A word of warning: Many a traveler has been known to succumb to food poisoning in Vietnam; make sure to wash your hands with anti-bacterial soap before digging in and to skip the less than hygienic looking stalls.

4. Son Tra Night Market: Local Knickknack Haunt
Find yourself near the Dragon Bridge at night? Visit the Son Tra Night Market for some local handicrafts. Think colorful lanterns, the famous conical Vietnamese hats, handmade pots and ceramics, and even some traditional Vietnamese clothes. Even if you don’t plan on buying anything, we highly recommend a quick look-see.

5. Hoa Khanh Night Market: Student Central
Situated near the universities and colleges in the area, this open-air night market attracts students and young folks with their tantalizingly cheap wares. You can find clothes, shoes, cosmetics and accessories here and will probably be surprised at how little they cost. The only dangerous thing? Not having enough space in your luggage!

Looking for a fun night out? Head to Helio Center near Lotte Mart and explore the bustling and buzzing Helio Night Market. With hundreds of food stalls, carnival-like game booths, vendors selling a variety of eclectic products, and live music and performances, it’s a great place to hang out with a group of friends for a chill night out.

7. An Thuong Night Market: International Cuisine at its Best
Another place to visit from great food would be the An Thuong Night Market. Don’t expect this place to be filled with a variety of different stalls selling anything and everything though. Nope, this market is all about the chow, especially those that offer international flavours. Besides your typical Vietnamese dishes, this place offers food like tacos, cheese steaks, burgers, Thai food, and more. Yum!
